The Printmedia Section deals with the publishing activities of The Open University of Tanzania. The activities involve copyediting, typing, typesetting and proofreading of study materials and other publications of the university with the objective of producing quality learning print materials.

The Section also liases with authors and reviewers of learning materials with the objective of improving or ironing out of noted problems in the learning materials. The Section prepares printing specifications for printers of OUT publications and liases with printers in order to ensure quality production (printing) of those publications.

Training in writing workshops or seminars is another function undertaken by the section in order to have in place competent authors of distance learning materials.

The Printmedia Section also plans and produces promotional materials aimed at publishing the publications of the university to potential consumers within and outside the university community.
