Dr. Salvio E. Macha

Dr. SALVIO ELIAS MACHA is a Lecturer in Financial markets and institutions currently he is the head of department of Accounting and Finance. At Faculty level he is also responsible for effective management of academic resources, in alignment with the University’s strategic plan, to support, develop and enhance teaching, learning, research and knowledge exchange activities extensively.

First with a Bsc. (PoM) degree from MzumbeUniversity (2006), he became two times winner of CSC (China Scholarship Council) for MBA (in accounting and finance) and PhD in financial management at Wuhan University of Technology and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. He joined the Open University of Tanzania in 2010 as an Assistant lecturer after a brief working in Banking industry, firstly at Standard Chartered bank as a loan officer and then Bank of Baroda as a credit risk management trainee.

Dr. SALVIO ELIAS MACHA has attended various seminars and workshop on Open and Distance teaching and learning locally and overseas, including participating in the development of a course in international business at the Open University of Tanzania under OUT funding Programme.

His teaching interests include financial engineering, econometric analysis, Investment Analysis and, Financial Markets and Institutions, Research Methodology, Business Mathematics and Statistics, and Quantitative Methods, at

undergraduate level with an experience extending to his time at Mzumbe University. His research is focused on investment analysis, microfinance services, and business training.
