Master of Arts in Kiswahili (MAKISW) -Hybrid mode
The MA Kiswahili programme has three key objectives: (i) to train skilled professionals in Kiswahili Language, Linguistics and Literature, (ii) to produce scholars who can comprehend the significance of Kiswahili Language and its contribution towards national and international development (iii) to equip students with a stock of capabilities particularly in research and publication.

Masters by thesis fees may be paid in lump-sum or four installments: i.e., 30% during registration, 20% during proposal presentation, 30% during the presentation of research findings, and 20% during viva voice.

An MA Kiswahili student who will graduate in the Masters in Kiswahili programmers will have the academic ability and competence to apply the acquired theories, research skills and knowledge of Kiswahili language and literature to critically evaluate and determine the quality and the validity of any Kiswahili materials or research problematic.
Evaluation of the programmes will be through course work and examinations. Except for the dissertation, each course will be evaluated as follows:

The pass mark for each examinable course shall be 50%. A candidate who may not have completed course work shall not be allowed to proceed for research work.
