Master of Laws in International Trade and Investment Law (LL.M ITIL) programme teaches legal frameworks governing global business and international trade and investment relations between states. The programme focuses on international trade law to comparative private law, from foundational frameworks to new technologies in trade law. It is a comprehensive Master of laws that prepares students for a variety of careers in the field. It teaches legal professionals and wider community involved in international trade the complexity of the laws of global trade on the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO), regional trade agreements, bilateral trade treaties, International commercial disputes resolutions and investment law. The programme exposes students to complex discussions on fundamental questions of trade and investment in the context of international trade policy, international political economy, international law, and international trade disputes mechanisms. The programme covers a broad range of international trade regulatory and legal issues, such as trade in goods, trade in services, trade remedies, technical standards and dispute settlement. Particular attention will be devoted to the non-trade policy effects of international trade regulation, in fields such as public morals, health and the environment. Students will get detailed legal debates on the law on investment protection disciplines and how States treat foreign investors and their investments. Learners will get knowledge related to international trade and investment conflicts while understanding that the investment regime emerges from the substantive obligations expressed in investment treaties and customary international law, and their interpretation and application by investment treaty tribunals in particular disputes. After completion of the coursework part of the programme the student shall be required to embark on writing dissertation as a final part of the study programme.
