Risk Management and Certification Section

The Risk Management and Certification Unit (RMC) is one among the three sections under the Unit  of Quality Assurance at the Open University of Tanzania. The major role of the section is to identify and reports the key risk issues to the management through the Unit of Quality Assurance together with advising the management on proper risk management and mitigation.  Furthermore, the unit has the role to develop the Risk Management Framework and the policy Risk which stand as a guide towards proper management of the Institutional Risks for a quality institutional service delivery and products. Together with the identification of the risk issues, the unit also plays a role of coordinating issues of institutional accreditation and certification.

Specifically, the RMC aims to:

  1. Identify the main key issues at which may have impacts on achieving the instructional objectives
  2. Advice the management on Risk Management and Mitigation
  3. Coordinate preparation and implementation of Institutional Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  4. Coordinate issues of Institutional accreditation and certification
  5. Coordinate issues of institutional programmes’ accreditation and certification6.
  6. Translate and implement University Policies at department level
